BAPTISM

Five months before the Baptism, the parents of the baby need to register as

parishioners. Registration is in the OLOH Church Office. The parents and godparents are

required to have an interview with the Priest before attending the baptismal classes.

Baptism classes are held the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:00 am in our parish hall.

The Baptismal Ceremony takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month normally

during the evening Masses. If there are 5 or more to be Baptized, the Ceremony will be

held at 11:00 am.

There is a follow up class on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm

RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION)

Restores our union with Christ; that has been disrupted by our personal sins. Saturdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.

Communal Reconciliation is offered during the year with special times during Lent and

Advent seasons and during Verbena Fiesta.

HOLY EUCHARIST (FIRST HOLY COMMUNION)

Religious education is held from Kindergarten through the tenth grade. Classes are held every Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30am.

The children attending class; attend Mass as part of their formation to receive their

Reconciliation and First Communion Sacraments. Classes begin in the fall (August)

and continue the same as the school year.

PRE-CONFIRMATION AND CONFIRMATION

Deepens our union with Christ and helps us proclaim our Faith in Him; before others.

Classes are held each Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00pm. Part of the program is to

attend mass every Sunday. One Sunday each month there is a meeting with parents

and candidates. The age requirement is 14 to 18 years old.

Classes begin in the fall (August) and continue the same as the school year.

CIC (Catholic Initiation of Children)

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

Heals and strengthens our union with Christ during times of serious illness.

The first Friday of each month the Priest will visit the elderly and sick in their homes

during the morning. In the evening mass the Priest will anoint the sick.

Sundays the Eucharist Ministers will take Communion to the home bound.

HOLY ORDERS

Ordination "Confers" a gift of the Holy Spirit that permits the

exercise of a "Sacred Power" which can come only from Christ Himself through the

church. In the Sacrament of Holy Order there are three degrees or orders: Bishop,

Priest, and Deacon.

MARRIAGE

Makes a man and woman, husband and wife and gives them grace

through the Sacrament of Matrimony and helps them to live with God, for God and each other.

According to the official manual of the Dioceses the bride or groom are to be registered

with the church 4-6 months before the wedding date and are to be over 18 years of age.
